An exhibition ‘Objects from India’ held at the Winchester School of Art Library commemorates this special week, showcasing a selection of works drawn from the Library’s Artists’ Book Collection by two artists, Tony Hayward and Priya Pereira.
Priya Pereira uses whimsical, bold and innovative book art in the form of children’s toys to promote cross-cultural awareness of Indian culture, transport, food and more.
As the first of its kind, this landmark week full of a diverse range of events brings together Southampton’s global community of students, staff, alumni, partners, industry stakeholders and local community to celebrate three momentous occasions: 75th anniversary of Indian independence, 70th anniversary of the University’s royal charter status and 3rd anniversary of the University India Centre.
